Bio

Paul Stovall is a Seattle-based composer. His music jumps between genres based on the project he is working on and primarily explores the human condition.

Paul has written works for symphony orchestra, wind ensemble, and a variety of musical ensembles. His music has been workshopped and performed by the Seattle Opera, the Common Tone Music Festival, and the El Paso Society of Musicians for the Future.

In addition to attending the Interlochen Center for the Arts, Paul holds degrees from Western Washington University, Seattle Film Institute, and the University of Idaho. His primary composition instructors include N. Lincoln Hanks, Jennifer Jolley, Roger Briggs, Todd Smith, Adam Haws, Charles Halka, Lesley Sommer, Hummie Mann, and Ruby Fulton. He has also studied piano with David Barela, Natalya Ageyeva, Jeffrey Gilliam, Carolyn Bridger, and Robert Satterlee.
